She provides trauma-informed confidential patient care, education, and research to improve sexual health through the prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation of conditions or diseases that involve sexual function in all genders.

Dr. Yee offers a complimentary 10-minute phone call for people with sexual health concerns who desire more information about her practice and available medical services. This gives you an opportunity to speak with a sexual medicine expert on issues that are often overlooked or minimized in medicine today. Once you have had a discussion with our experts, you can obtain an estimate for services specific to your issue if you would like to become Dr. Yee’s patient.
In-person Sexual Medicine Consultations
Dr. Yee is accepting new patients of all genders for sexual health concerns. Even if your issue is not sexual in nature, many genitourinary health concerns affect overall wellness and quality of life. We are here to help with all of those concerns. Before your in-person visit, we collect lots of information from you about your health and symptoms so we can best prepare for your specific needs. Our new patients are given plenty of confidential, compassionate, and judgment free time to discuss the specifics of their problem and to ask all of their questions. Your comfort is Dr. Yee’s priority, knowing that many sexual health issues can be difficult to talk about. Comprehensive diagnostic testing and examination of blood hormone levels, nerve sensation, pelvic floor muscle tone and reflexes, gential tissue anatomy and health are tailored to your issue and concerns. Patient education and a clear treatment plan is the crux of Dr. Yee’s practice. She ensures that all your questions are answered and that you have a clear understanding of the next steps. New patients are offered a complimentary summary follow up phone call about a week after their visit to give you time to process all the information you received on your visit.
Comprehensive Menopause Management
Dr. Yee offers the full spectrum of menopause management starting with hearing your particular symptoms and concerns to creating a complete treatment plan. Patient education is tied into every step of the interview and exam. Our vulvoscopy equipment allows Dr. Yee to show you in real time the tissue changes that occur in menopause. There are many options for non-hormonal and hormonal treatments, and Dr. Yee works jointly with you to build the best treatment plan for you.
Mona Lisa Laser Therapy
We offer this state-of-the-art fractional CO2 laser therapy as a non-chemical and non-hormonal option for the treatment of vaginal dryness and other vulvar concerns. It is a quick, convenient in-office procedure that does not require anesthesia. There is no downtime, so you can keep your life and work schedule going while benefiting from this regenerative therapy.
Testosterone Replacement Therapy
Dr. Yee will review your lab values, symptoms, and goals to determine the optimal treatment regimen for your low testosterone. She will work with you and your preferences to determine the best medication, dosing, and method of delivery. If preserving your fertility is a concern, Dr. Yee will help you achieve that while treating your low testosterone.
Diagnostic testing for ED
Dr. Yee takes a thorough and multimodal approach to diagnosing erectile dysfunction. Many patients who see a doctor for ED are given a prescription for pills and told to come back months later–if at all.. We know that ED is individual and personal, so we tailor our approach to your specific needs. After a comprehensive patient interview, we offer extensive testing for sensation, erectile tissue health, and penile blood flow with our cutting edge ultrasound and Doppler technology. These tests are conducted only by a medical provider and not technicians at SDSM, and the results are interpreted within the same session.
Diagnostic testing for Premature Ejaculation
An often avoided topic, premature ejaculation is actually one of the most common bothersome sexual symptoms! A thorough medical interview and exam, patient education, sensory nerve and hypersensitivity testing, and expert treatment plan are all offered in a confidential and comfortable setting.
Low-Intensity Shockwave Therapy (LiSWT)
At San Diego Sexual Medicine, Dr. Yee utilizes the Urogold 100™ shockwave device which is FDA cleared for improved blood flow, pain amelioration, and connective tissue activation. Several basic science studies examining the effects of low intensity penile shockwave on erectile tissue have utilized the Urogold100™ electrohydraulic shockwave device. Multiple health care providers have presented positive erectile dysfunction outcome data after treatment with Urogold100™ shockwave device. No side effects have been reported. This device uses electrohydraulic energy waves to improve the blood supply to the penis and activate smooth muscle tissue regeneration in the corpora cavernosa, thereby improving erectile dysfunction. Dr. Yee has extensive clinical experience with using this technology for certain neurologic and sexual pain disorders as well. When you are investigating potential treatments, please note that there are major differences between true LiSWT and “Gainswave,” “radial wave,” or “acoustic wave” therapies, which are not backed by the same level of clinical data as LiSWT.
Lysis of Clitoral Adhesions
Just as a penis has a foreskin at birth, the clitoris also has a skin covering called the prepuce. In some cases, vulvar or clitoral pain or hypersensitivity can be due to prepuc skin adhesions to the glans clitoris. Sloughed skin cells or hair get trapped under the skin causing inflammation and irritation. For select patients, a lysis of clitoral adhesions can be performed in the office setting with topical and local anesthesia.
Emsella Incontinence Therapy
Dr. Yee offers this revolutionary technology for the treatment of male and female urinary incontinence that provides entirely non-invasive electromagnetic stimulation of pelvic floor musculature to rehabilitate weakened pelvic muscles and to restore neuromuscular control.
Spine-Sexual Medicine Institute
As part of the Spine-Sex Med Institute, Dr. Yee collaborates with Dr. Irwin Goldstein, Dr. Choll Kim a minimally-invasive expert spine surgeon, and Dr. Barry Komisaruk to take a multi-disciplinary approach to complex neurological sexual medicine cases. As avid clinical researchers and pioneers of this field, we strive to find treatments and cures for these severe and debilitating sexual conditions like genitopelvic dyesthesia, persistent genital arousal disorder, and sleep-related painful erection.
Procedures
Dr. Yee is a fellowship trained urological surgeon who specializes in penile prosthesis surgery as well as surgical management of vestibulodynia with sub-epithelial complete vestibulectomy and vaginal advancement flap surgery.
